Deforest Kelley who played Leonard "Bones" McCoy on Star Trek passed away on June 11, 1999 from stomach cancer. He originally auditioned for the role of Spock but passed it up to play McCoy. When asked why he passed on the role he had this to say. May he be remembered Forever.
